Real example of an Ebay scam
Here's what shows up at the top of the listing:
HOWEVER ! ---
The "Buy it Now price" and "US $4,800.00" and the Buy It Now
button are not from Ebay -
this entire section is a graphic that is located on an entirely
different server and has been arranged to completely cover the original
standard Ebay material. I'm not sure how it's done - I can see the code
in the "View Source" but getting it to overlay in the listing must be
tricky. Here's the captured graphic:
This item disappeared very shortly after I visited it. If you had
clicked on this graphic in the original posting, it took you to a
page that is completely unrelated to Ebay (which now no longer responds) -
at "startimages.com", which then redirected to another host at
"hostingprod.com", which displayed a replica of the ebay login page!
This is clearly Phishing.
If you remove this graphic
from the page, you see what Ebay intends to show there:
Also, if you bring up list of all Triumphs, etc. you'll see this
listing, but it is not shown
as a "buy it now" listing.
